Written especially to meet the needs of Scottish primary teachers, this series provides countless opportunities for learning and teaching. Using fictional characters within a historical context, the authors have aimed to encourage young readers to consider issues which have a contemporary relevance.
Global citizenship begins within a local framework and so Rooshie Doo books contain Scots words and usage to give a unique and fresh flavour amongst current education resources. Positive values can be explored through the materials which foster and develop higher order thinking skills. Piloted in Fife schools, the books have proven very popular with pupils from P4 - P7.
